BOISE, Idaho — Saturday, June 3rd, marks the 5th annual Urban Culture Fashion Show. The show supports Culture for Change which has lifted individuals and families out of poverty through education.
The Culture For Change mission is to "empower youth to become passionate, focused and successful activators of the community to create positive change and creativity through cultural, social and financial education." Culture for Change is a grassroots non-profit that caters to the community youth and members through financial, social, and cultural education.
The program started in 2019, and pairs youth with active members in the community. Winnie Christensen, CEO of the non-profit, says "we have street art, we have Indian fabric painting, intro to multi-media, sewing classes..."
The event is Saturday, June 3rd, and doors open at 5 pm, show starts at 6 pm, at the Trica Preschool of the Arts located on W. Eastman St. in Boise. The event organizers say this is a world class event, so dress your best. The theme of this years fashion show is "seasons."
