MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — Idaho State Police are investigating a fatality crash from Wednesday, Oct. 25, at approximately 7:41 p.m. westbound Interstate 84 just west of exit 44 in Meridian.
A 61-year-old woman from Marsing was driving a 2015 Toyota Highlander when she collided with a male pedestrian trying to cross the travel lanes. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Traffic was completely blocked for five hours, allowing emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.
The Ada County Coroner's Office was dispatched to westbound I-84, west of exit 44 in Meridian, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. 61-year-old pedestrian Randell Crocker from Meridian was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by multiple vehicles while crossing traffic.
The Coroner's Office reports the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, and the manner of death is pending.Further information is pending investigation.
